03:49 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing's (TSM) affiliate Vanguard International Semiconductor is considering a second chip plant in Singapore through its joint venture with NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) to meet growing demand, Bloomberg reported Monday. The joint venture, VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing, could use more advanced chipmaking technology at the new facility than at its first Singapore plant, Bloomberg reported, citing Vanguard Chairman Leuh Fang. Fang added it is too early to estimate the cost of the potential plant because the investment would depend on the technology selected. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, NXP Semiconductors did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
