On Monday, chip stocks generally declined, with Qualcomm (QCOM.US) dropping nearly 7% and SanDisk (SNDK.US) falling over 5%.
According to Zhitong Finance APP, on Monday, chip stocks fell across the board. Qualcomm (QCOM.US) dropped nearly 7%, SanDisk (SNDK.US) fell more than 5%, SK Hynix (SKHY.US) dropped 5%, Intel (INTC.US) and Western Digital (WDC.US) both fell over 4%, Seagate Technology (STX.US), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.US), and Micron Technology (MU.US) all dropped over 3%. On the news front, OpenAI suddenly paused the training and testing of its most advanced AI model, raising market concerns that a slowdown in AI development pace may drag down chip demand; at the same time, surging oil prices and an uptick in U.S. Treasury yields have further amplified selling pressure on tech stocks.
