In September, the international gold price continued to decline. Today, COMEX gold futures prices fell all the way, breaking below $4,200 per ounce with a drop of over 3%. This once again led to a decrease in domestic gold jewelry listing prices, with the listed price for jewelry gold at Shenzhen Shuibei Gold Jewelry Market falling to 1,068 yuan per gram. The decline in gold prices, combined with the long National Day holiday, ushered in the traditional peak season for gold retail consumption. Many merchants said that their store traffic has significantly increased recently, especially among customers with immediate wedding needs, who place orders quite decisively. The frequency of restocking in the stores was noticeably faster than last month, with some popular styles even facing shortages. One gold merchant revealed: "Compared to last month, sales this month have increased by about 20%–30%. Many people get married during the National Day holiday, and with the drop in gold prices, business this month is comparatively much better." (CCTV Finance).
