Rocket Mortgage Adopts VantageScore 4.0 as Preferred Credit Scoring Model for Certain Loan Products

MT newswireMT newswire2026/09/29 09:56
05:56 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Rocket Companies' (RKT) mortgage business will use VantageScore 4.0 as its preferred credit scoring model for all eligible direct-to-consumer loan products, the company said late Monday. The company said about four months of testing showed that VantageScore helped more clients qualify and advance through the mortgage process while reducing credit scoring costs. During Q4, Rocket Mortgage will default to VantageScore 4.0 for mortgages delivered to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Veterans Affairs home loans and other eligible mortgages. Mortgages for investment properties and second homes, home equity loans, FHA loans, jumbo loans and certain other products will continue to use FICO scores, the company said.
