01:16 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Broad Market Indicators Broad-market exchange-traded funds IWM and IVV fell. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) eased 0.1%. US equity indexes fell during midday trading on Tuesday as Treasury yields rose amid growing uncertainty over the US-Iran conflict and faltering consumer confidence in September. Energy IShares US Energy ETF (IYE) and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) each shed about 0.7%. Technology The State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) fell fractionally; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) eased 0.2%, and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) was up marginally. The State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) was up 0.4%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) was 1.2% higher. Financial The State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) fell 0.6%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) declined 2%, and its bearish counterpart, Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ), advanced 1.9%. Commodities Crude oil lost 2.3%, and the United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 2.7%. Natural gas fell 2.1%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) moved 3.2% lower. Gold on Comex rose 0.2%, and the State Street SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) was up 0.6%. Silver eased 1%, and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) fell fractionally. Consumer The State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) fell 0.8% and the Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) eased 0.9%. The State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) was down 0.2%. VanEck Retail ETF (RTH) dipped 0.6%, and the State Street SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) fell 0.6%. Healthcare The State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) lost 0.8%, while iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) each shed 0.8%. IShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 0.4%. Industrial The State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR (XLI) shed 0.1%. Vanguard Industrials Index Fund (VIS) was down 0.2% and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) eased 0.3%. Cryptocurrency In midday activity, bitcoin (BTC-USD) was 0.4% lower. Among cryptocurrency ETFs, ProShares Bitcoin ETF (BITO) declined 0.3%, ProShares Ether ETF (EETH) was down 0.1%, and ProShares Bitcoin & Ether Market Cap Weight ETF (BETH) added 1.2%.

Resend-BUZZ-Reports say Venture Global is in negotiations with China over liquefied natural gas sales, and its stock price has surged in response.

Correction of company name spelling in the headline October 6 - Venture Global (VG.N), a liquefied natural gas producer, saw its share price rise by 2.3% to $13.77. According to Bloomberg, disruptions in global transportation caused by the situation in Iran have prompted China to seek diversified supply sources, and Venture Global is in talks to sell liquefied natural gas to more Chinese buyers (link). Venture Global has not immediately responded to a request for comment from Reuters. Bloomberg (link) reported that Venture Global has held preliminary negotiations on long-term contracts with at least three Chinese LNG importers. Out of 18 brokerages, 11 have rated the stock as "buy" or higher, and 7 have rated it as "hold". The median target price is $16.
