U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA): As alternative transportation options expand, the projected oil production shutdown in Q1 2027 is expected to decrease to 2.7 million barrels per day from 4.5 million barrels per day in Q4 2026.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) stated: As transportation alternatives expand, oil production shutdowns are expected to decrease from 4.5 million barrels per day in the fourth quarter of 2026 to 2.7 million barrels per day in the first quarter of 2027.
