1. SpaceX in early talks on about $40 billion of debt to buy Nvidia chips
Bloomberg and the Financial Times reported on October 7 that SpaceX is in early talks with banks and investors on as much as about $40 billion in financing to purchase Nvidia chips. The structure discussed is about $10 billion of bank loans plus $30 billion of investment-grade debt. The FT said Apollo is expected to lead; Bloomberg said Pimco is looking at the deal. Closing is expected in 2027, and the talks may not result in a deal. On Wednesday, SpaceX closed down 2.5% and Nvidia fell less than 1%.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, SPCX; Key catalyst: The chip-purchase financing is still in negotiation. Until it closes, it is an order expectation, not a signed purchase.
2. Micron reverses an early drop; price target raised to $3,000
Micron opened lower Wednesday and closed up 4.06% at about $1,088, on roughly $32.6 billion in turnover. SanDisk closed up about 1.9%. The same day, D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria raised his target from $2,100 to $3,000 and kept a Buy, citing three-to-five-year growth not yet in the multiple, and a memory supply squeeze that could last through 2027–2028. The memory theme rose about 3.2% on the day, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 1.2%.
🎯 Beneficiaries: MU, SNDK; Key catalyst: A sell-side target hike offset the sector pullback under higher rates. The gain is Wednesday’s tape, not a new company order.
3. Nvidia and Microsoft launch Windows desk-side AI
At a Microsoft event in San Francisco on Wednesday, Jensen Huang and Satya Nadella announced hardware-software co-design so AI agents run on Windows PCs. RTX Spark laptops opened for pre-order the same day, with sales starting October 16. DGX Station for Windows was shown as a preview on the GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra, with no ship date. Nvidia still closed lower on the day.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, MSFT; Key catalyst: Pre-orders are open. Whether desk-side inference can follow data-center demand still depends on sales.
4. Fed minutes show a split; 10-year yield hits a roughly 24-year high
Minutes of the September meeting, released Wednesday, showed a unanimous first rate hike since July 2023, but divisions over the rationale. Most participants judged that another increase would likely be appropriate by year-end. The Dow fell 0.66% to 51,180, the S&P 500 fell 0.22% to 7,802, and the Nasdaq fell 0.22% to 27,539. The 10-year yield approached 5.37% intraday, and the 30-year also hit a roughly 24-year high. Caterpillar fell nearly 6% and weighed on the Dow; homebuilders fell about 2.9%.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, AMD, MRVL; Key catalyst: Higher yields capped high-multiple chips. The semiconductor ETF fell Wednesday, so event drivers matter more than index beta.
Trading note: The last 24 hours were a pullback from records as yields jumped, not a fresh infrastructure-order wave. The only items to track are the SpaceX talks, Micron’s target hike, and Windows desk-side pre-orders. None of the three is an earnings delivery yet. Size positions against the 10-year yield and volume.

Where is Muse's commercialization stuck? Barred from two-thirds of websites
Meta AI agent Muse faces commercialization difficulties: According to Jefferies' tests on hundreds of e-commerce, airline, and hotel websites, about one-third directly block Muse, another third set up access obstacles, and the core technical challenge has shifted from "Is the model good enough?" to "Can it even get in?" This friction in access will prolong the monetization timeline and objectively reinforce Google’s structural moat.
