Sector Update: Tech Stocks Fall Premarket Thursday
MT newswire2026/10/08 13:1609:16 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were falling premarket Thursday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.7% and the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) 1.7% lower. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) reported revenue of 511.86 billion New Taiwan dollars ($16.03 billion) in September, up 55% from a year earlier. TSMC shares were down more than 1% pre-bell. SK Hynix's (SKHY) flash-memory spin-off Solidigm has chosen Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS) to assemble its US initial public offering next year, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Shares of SK Hynix were down more than 1% premarket. Accenture (ACN) and Dell (DELL) said they are creating a new business group to help organizations scale artificial intelligence and modernize infrastructure. Dell Technologies stock was down more than 1% pre-bell.
