XRP gained between 3% and 4% in recent trading, while Bitcoin surged past $83,000. The broader cryptocurrency market recorded an increase of about 1.67%, with market observers citing improved sentiment and regulatory progress as contributing factors to the recovery.
XRP climbs 4%, Austin Hilton says parabolic rally unlikely without more liquidity
Analyst weighs in on XRP rally prospects
Austin Hilton, a well-known crypto commentator who regularly provides market analysis on social media, shared his views in a recent video. Hilton acknowledged reasons for optimism following the latest gains but argued that conditions are not yet in place for a sustained surge in XRP or the wider market.
Hilton discussed several influences currently supporting the cryptocurrency sector. He agreed with CoinMarketCap’s artificial intelligence tool, which highlighted Bitcoin’s strength and improving social sentiment as central drivers behind the latest market rebound.
Regulatory developments in the United States also played a role. Specifically, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency finalized rules relating to payment stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act, a new legislative framework designed to provide greater clarity about digital assets. Hilton suggested that the introduction of clearer rules could help reduce uncertainty for institutional investors considering cryptocurrency and blockchain adoption.
Mini dictionary: GENIUS Act – A legislative proposal in the US that targets regulation of payment stablecoin issuers, aiming to provide transparency and support for institutional crypto adoption.
Although XRP is moving up, current conditions do not indicate the start of a parabolic rally. Clearer regulations and positive sentiment help, but significant barriers remain.
Economic factors and liquidity concerns
Despite the upward momentum, Hilton pointed out that broader economic challenges continue to restrict major advances in the crypto market. He listed persistent inflation, higher fuel prices, and increased concerns about job security as headwinds making investors more cautious about risk assets.
Hilton also referenced the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for October 27-28, noting that changes in interest rates could significantly impact market dynamics. He mentioned that current US Treasury yields above 5.7% offer competitive returns, which may encourage institutions to favor government securities over riskier assets such as XRP and Bitcoin.
| US Treasury | 5.7% yield | Lower risk, stable return |
| Bitcoin (BTC) | $83,000+ | High risk, potential for gains |
| XRP | +3% to +4% | Moderate risk, more volatility |
High Treasury yields make traditional government securities more attractive to institutions compared to riskier cryptocurrencies, which may slow fresh capital flowing into the market.
Liquidity in the market remains a major concern for Hilton. He explained that a major upward surge requires strong bullish liquidity, meaning substantial new capital specifically entering the crypto market with the intention of driving prices higher. At present, Hilton does not see enough of this capital to fuel an extended rally.
He contrasted bullish liquidity with bearish liquidity, where capital supports trades expecting falling prices. Hilton believes available funds in the market remain insufficient to sustain a significant upward breakout for XRP at this time.
Outlook tempered by current conditions
Hilton did concede that continued regulatory progress in the US and sustained strength in Bitcoin could provide additional support for both XRP and the broader crypto sector. However, he remains cautious, citing limited liquidity and ongoing economic uncertainties as obstacles likely to keep cryptocurrencies trading within a narrow range for now.
Hilton concluded that, unless substantial new capital flows into riskier assets or macroeconomic signals turn more favorable, a parabolic rally in XRP remains unlikely in the near term.

Citrini, once the most prominent bull in AI hardware, has now significantly reduced his semiconductor holdings and currently holds some short positions. He believes that the financing structure for AI infrastructure has shifted from tech giants' own cash flows to equity and debt markets, and that sentiment alone could sever the funding chain and impact fundamentals. Strategically, he is long Meta and short Google. Citrini also asserts that the bottleneck in AI pharmaceutical development is not computational power, but rather a "lack of monkeys."
