According to the speculative position data of Brent crude oil on the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), as of the week ended October 20, speculative net long positions increased by 8,852 contracts from the previous week, reaching a total of 241,881 contracts. Such changes in positions often reflect a short-term optimistic outlook from speculative funds regarding the future trend of international oil prices. The growth in net long positions to some extent also indicates an increase in bullish sentiment among market participants regarding crude oil supply and demand fundamentals or the macroeconomic environment.
