Vandell Says XRP Is Set Up for a Much Bigger Move But Issues This Warning
XRP may still have another significant decline ahead before entering a much larger phase, according to Vandell, co-founder of Black Swan Capitalist.
While the crypto market often focuses on upside targets, Vandell’s latest analysis takes a different approach by warning that XRP could experience another period of weakness before a broader liquidity-driven move develops.
The analysis came with a long-term XRP/USD chart covering price action from 2017 through 2026. Vandell used the chart to compare previous market cycles and identify what he sees as a potential path for XRP in the current cycle.
XRP is set up for a much bigger move, but that doesn’t mean the downside is behind us. When the next phase of this debt cycle requires a major liquidity response, XRP will likely carry a very different valuation than the market assigns today.
Vandell Sees Room for Another Decline
“XRP is set up for a much bigger move, but that doesn’t mean the downside is behind us,” Vandell wrote.
He added that XRP could eventually reach a significantly different valuation if the next stage of the global debt cycle produces a major liquidity response.
“When the next phase of this debt cycle requires a major liquidity response, XRP will likely carry a very different valuation than the market assigns today,” he stated.
The attached weekly chart places XRP at around $1.31 and shows a long-term ascending trendline running beneath the price action. The chart also marks previous areas as “Macro cycle Top,” with those historical peaks occurring after substantial periods of price movement.
Vandell’s chart also shows XRP trading below its previous cycle highs while remaining above the long-term ascending trendline. The current structure appears to leave room for further price movement in either direction before the market establishes its next major trend.
$0.97 Emerges as a Key Level
The possibility of another decline also appeared in the comments under Vandell’s post.
Vandell responded directly to that comment with a specific level that could become important during a deeper correction.
That comment suggests Vandell is watching the liquidation levels associated with leveraged XRP positions rather than treating the current price as a confirmed bottom.
Long-Term Chart Keeps Focus on the Bigger Cycle
The chart attached to the post places XRP’s current price well below the previous macro cycle tops while showing a long-term upward-sloping support line extending from the earlier years of the market.
Vandell’s analysis therefore does not present the current weakness as a reason to abandon the larger bullish outlook. Instead, he separates the potential short-term downside from his longer-term expectation for XRP.
His central view remains that XRP could eventually trade at a valuation far above current levels if broader liquidity conditions change. However, he also warns that XRP investors should not assume the market has already completed every potential downside move.
For now, Vandell’s $0.97 liquidation zone gives traders a level to watch if selling pressure increases, while his broader debt-cycle thesis remains focused on what could happen to XRP when liquidity conditions change.
