Instacart's Potential Sale to Uber, DoorDash Shows 'Strategic Rationale,' Wedbush Says

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/26 15:12
11:12 AM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Instacart's (CART) potential sale to Uber (UBER) and DoorDash (DASH) shows "strategic rationale," with the company coming off as a compelling asset with enterprise capabilities, and a strong advertising product, Wedbush said in a Monday note. A mix of strong restaurant delivery and a marketplace including various grocers from Instacart can be a critical combination against the likes of Walmart (WMT) and Amazon (AMZN), who continue to push further in this market, Wedbush said. The analysts further said that they do not expect material regulatory pushback on the potential deal based on Walmart and Amazon's strength in the sector. On Friday, Bloomberg reported that Instacart is weighing a potential sale and has held preliminary discussions with Uber and DoorDash, with the possible deal valuing the company at $16 billion to $17 billion. Wedbush reiterated its outperform rating and $63 price target on Instacart. Price: 54.15, Change: -2.29, Percent Change: -4.06
