Deutsche Bank (DB.US) announced its Q3 2026 results on Wednesday.

According to Golden Ten Data APP, Deutsche Bank (DB.US) announced its third quarter 2026 results on Wednesday. The data shows that net revenue for the quarter increased by 4% year-over-year to 8.3 billion euros, surpassing the market expectation of 8.21 billion euros; net profit attributable to shareholders after tax was 1.85 billion euros, setting a record high for the third consecutive quarter and exceeding analysts’ expectations of 1.7 billion euros. Pre-tax profit grew by 8% year-over-year to 2.6 billion euros, with diluted earnings per share at 0.94 euros, an increase of 6% year-over-year.

Core Metrics Improvement

Return on tangible equity (RoTE) for the third quarter was 10.6%, compared to 10.7% in the same period last year (boosted by tax effects); the cost-income ratio fell to 62.4%, improving by 2 percentage points year-over-year. The CET1 capital ratio stood at 14.0%, at the upper end of its operating range, and the 1.5 billion euro share buyback for 2026 has been completed.

Net revenue growth was mainly driven by key growth areas, contributing 80% of incremental revenue. The assets under management in the Private Banking and Asset Management divisions increased by 50 billion euros during the quarter to 2 trillion euros, driven by a record net inflow of 47 billion euros. Loans grew by 5% year-over-year, while deposits increased by 8%.

Performance by Business Segment

Investment banking revenue declined slightly year-over-year, but this was offset by growth in private banking, asset management, and corporate banking. In the third quarter, Private Banking RoTE rose to 13.0%, client assets reached 865 billion euros, with net inflows of 17 billion euros; Asset Management RoTE reached 41.7%, assets under management exceeded 1.2 trillion euros, with a record net inflow of 31 billion euros; Corporate Banking RoTE rose to 17.6%, with record revenue, loan growth of 8%, and deposits up 13%; Investment Banking income was 2.918 billion euros, with pre-tax profit up 12%.

Looking ahead, Deutsche Bank stated that the "strong" performance in the first nine months of 2026 "supports its full-year revenue target of more than 33 billion euros."

Chief Executive Officer Christian Sewing stated: "We are pleased to announce that in 2026 we have achieved record profits for the third consecutive quarter. We have delivered excellent results in our key growth areas and achieved revenue growth; our asset gathering business has achieved record fund inflows; and our lending and deposit businesses have also shown strong growth."

JPMorgan Private Bank believes that before interest rates reach their peak, it will be difficult to confirm a bottom for gold prices. Thin liquidity coupled with expectations of further rate hikes this year present significant downward pressure. Chinese consumers are increasing their physical gold holdings, providing some support; however, Indian buyers are delaying festival purchases due to expectations that the price decline has not yet ended, substantially weakening demand-side support. For gold prices to regain upward momentum, multiple conditions need to coincide, including a drop in oil prices, cooling inflation, and a weaker US dollar.
