The US dollar held steady with a slight gain, while US Treasury yields fell during the European session. The dollar maintained a narrow range of fluctuations as US Treasury yields declined in early European trading. The market is digesting the Federal Reserve's decision on Wednesday to keep interest rates unchanged. Bas Kooijman, an analyst at DHF Capital S.A, stated that geopolitical situations are providing support for the US dollar; rising tensions in the Middle East are driving up oil prices and further strengthening expectations for tighter monetary policy. The analyst mentioned that continued tensions would boost safe-haven buying in the market; if the conflict gradually eases, both the US dollar and US Treasury yields are expected to weaken together. The US Dollar Index DXY remained steady at around 102.18. Trading data shows the 10-year US Treasury yield fell by 4.1 basis points to 4.998%.
