European STOXX 600 Index closed down 0.38%. The European Stoxx Index fell 1.08%; Eurozone blue-chip stocks sector declined by 1.23%. France’s CAC40 Index edged down by 0.09%; Spain’s IBEX Index dropped 1.04%. UK FTSE 100 Index bucked the trend, closing up 0.13%; Germany’s DAX Index retreated 0.85%. On the day, the major European stock indices showed divergence, with most sectors trending lower. Only the UK market recorded a slight gain, and overall trading sentiment remained cautious.
