Polygon Labs adds Solana support to stablecoin payment stack, offers cross-chain flows
Polygon Labs announced on October 29 that its Open Money Stack infrastructure now supports Solana-based businesses, broadening stablecoin payment capabilities across both networks. The expansion allows firms to integrate bank deposits, manage on-chain balances, and execute bank payouts within a unified platform.
Expansion of payment infrastructure
Polygon Labs, a leading blockchain developer, reported that it has integrated Solana into the Open Money Stack system. This move brings Solana-based assets into workflows that already serve Polygon and other supported blockchains.
The company explained that the platform combines key payment functions—such as account infrastructure, fiat conversion, wallet services, and routing—aiming to simplify operations for fintech businesses.
According to Polygon Labs, customers can fund their accounts using various methods, including bank transfers, credit cards, cash, and digital assets, enabling broad participation in stablecoin payment flows.
Supported tokens can now move across Solana, Polygon, and additional blockchains, but Polygon Labs emphasized that this capability does not guarantee universal access to all banks, tokens, or jurisdictions.
CoinGecko data showed Solana’s SOL token traded at $95.87, up 1.12% over 24 hours as of October 31 at 17:13 UTC. However, this price change did not establish a direct link to the announcement of the integration.
Integrating Solana into the Open Money Stack
Polygon Labs described the expanded Open Money Stack as a backend service designed to operate invisibly behind payment applications. This integration means users do not need to interact with cross-chain bridges directly.
For fintech providers, the service merges functions that were previously sourced separately, including embedded wallets for accounts, routing mechanisms for reaching settlement networks, and off-ramps for local currency payouts.
A major challenge remains in converting on-chain transactions into usable fiat payouts. While blockchain transfers can settle quickly, providers still need to manage reconciliation, compliance, and failed payments.
Polygon Labs highlights that combining these steps into a single interface may reduce the number of third-party services a business relies on, but operational and regulatory hurdles remain key factors in real-world adoption.
The company frames this integration as an operational improvement rather than evidence of increased payment activity, cost reductions, or lower failure rates.

Market snapshot and adoption signals
CoinGecko’s snapshot on October 31 reflected only modest daily changes for major tokens, with SOL, Bitcoin, and Ethereum each posting gains under 1.2%. Polygon’s own token was not included in the market data.
| Solana (SOL) | $95.87 | +1.12% | -3.81% |
| Bitcoin (BTC) | $77,518 | +0.39% | -2.76% |
| Ethereum (ETH) | $2,249.95 | +0.39% | -2.33% |
These numbers provide context for broader trends but do not confirm a market reaction to Polygon Labs’ Solana support.
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index registered a level of 30, signaling “Fear” on October 31, according to data from Alternative.me. Market sentiment remained cautious amid uncertainty across the industry.
Implementation hurdles and realistic outlook
Polygon Labs cautioned that support for Solana does not mean the Open Money Stack is universally available to every bank, all tokens, or every jurisdiction. Instead, regulatory compliance, local integration costs, and verification procedures continue to shape the platform’s practical availability.
Questions persist about how the infrastructure will handle failed payments, reconciliation, and local legal requirements. Simple user interfaces do not eliminate these operational dependencies.
Polygon Labs underscored that tangible evidence of live payout routes and measurable declines in failed payment rates would offer clearer proof of adoption than announcements of additional network support.
While network support expands the potential reach, Polygon Labs stated that successful implementations will hinge on real-world results and consistent operational reliability.

The low volatility in the US stock market is actually an illusion created by extreme divergence among sectors, with the internal structure being extremely fragile. BTIG warns that the market urgently needs a panic-induced sharp correction, with the Nasdaq facing at least an 8.5% pullback and the S&P 500 potentially dropping to 7,300 points. Additionally, the semiconductor sector has already broken technical support, the AI sector may be adversely affected by election policies, and both gold and silver have already peaked; the true market bottom is still far from being reached.
