ECARX (ECX.US) signs memorandum of cooperation with Arm to jointly develop the next-generation high-performance AI computing platform for multiple scenarios
ECARX Holdings (ECX.US), a global provider of full-stack intelligent automotive solutions, announced today the signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Arm.
According to Jinse Finance APP, global intelligent automotive full-stack solutions provider ECARX Holdings (ECX.US) announced today that it has signed a non-binding memorandum of cooperation with Arm. The two parties will use this as a framework to jointly explore and develop next-generation high-performance AI computing platforms for mobility and cross-industry applications.
According to the memorandum, both parties will carry out system-level joint engineering development covering architecture definition, performance optimization, software adaptation, functional safety, toolchain, and cybersecurity validation, while simultaneously promoting the co-construction of the industry ecosystem. The two sides will refine customized solutions for the Chinese and global markets, expanding their efforts from mobility scenarios to cross-industry physical AI applications such as AI terminals. Arm will serve as a core partner, supporting ECARX in developing computing solutions for highly complex physical AI computing workloads.
In fact, the two parties have previously cooperated through Semidrive. Semidrive's 7nm automotive-grade intelligent cockpit chip “Longying One” has already achieved mass production with cumulative shipments exceeding one million units. Currently, the next-generation 5nm automotive-grade AI cockpit-driving fusion chip “Longying Two” is under development.
ECARX CEO Ziyu Shen stated that, relying on the achievements brought by Semidrive, ECARX has already built a solid collaborative framework with Arm. As the automotive industry enters the era of "AI-defined vehicles," this cooperation will accelerate the creation of a high-performance physical AI computing platform adapted to the global market. By combining Arm's computing platform with ECARX's full-stack automotive technologies, the two companies aim to develop scalable high-performance computing solutions for the next generation of intelligent vehicles and explore opportunities for cross-industry applications. Both teams will advance joint technical roadmaps and collaborative engineering development. Drew Henry, Executive Vice President of Physical AI at Arm, added that physical AI requires the integration of computing, software, and security at the design stage. The collaboration is expected to pioneer new paths, helping AI-defined vehicles and autonomous systems achieve high-performance and energy-efficient computing.
