Reuters, November 3 - According to a memo seen by Reuters and issued on Tuesday, media giant Skydance SKYD.N (link)—which last month announced a merger between Paramount-Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery—has appointed Sarah Bergman and Mickey Carter to lead its distribution business, while eight senior executives are set to depart as the acquisition concludes.
This memo, sent by Skydance President of Distribution Ray Hopkins, stated that the new leadership team will begin structuring their respective organizations in the coming weeks.
The departing executives include four from Warner Bros. Discovery: Rivka Golomb, Kelly Kane, and Rich Palermo. The other four—David Comisar, Kurt Davis, Deena Demasi, and Ken Kay—come from the company’s Paramount division.
The memo also appointed seven Paramount and Warner Bros. executives to key leadership roles. The focus of the distribution division is to reach agreements with cable and satellite operators, broadcasters, and streaming platforms to promote its content.
After Paramount-Skydance completed its $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros., the merged entity has been named Skydance. The company has not immediately responded to Reuters’ request for comment.
Amid the rise of streaming and industry consolidation reshaping Hollywood, Skydance, led by David Ellison, plans to achieve at least $6 billion in cost savings while managing approximately $80 billion in combined debt.
According to their LinkedIn profiles, Bergman is currently Executive Vice President for Network and Streaming Distribution at Warner Bros. Discovery, while Carter serves as Executive Vice President for U.S. Distribution at Paramount.
Current Executive Vice President, Head of Legal, Distribution, and Business Partnerships, Cross, will also depart the company but will continue as a senior advisor to the distribution business. His responsibilities will be taken over by Rick Baker, Paramount’s Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Distribution and Legal Affairs.
In after-hours trading on Tuesday, Skydance’s share price fell slightly. So far this year, the company’s stock has dropped by about 27% in total.
Last month, Skydance offered a one-time voluntary buyout package to some employees. According to the 2025 annual reports from Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, the company is expected to have around 53,000 employees.
