With the preliminary results of the US midterm elections showing the Democratic Party holding an advantage, the yield on the US 10-year Treasury note has retreated from an earlier 4.97% to around 4.89%, reaching its lowest level since early September. Meanwhile, US stock index futures have experienced sell-offs, and the US dollar has fallen to its lowest level since late September. ITC Markets forex strategist Shaun Calo stated that the response in the foreign exchange market is intensifying. He added that the Swiss franc has risen by 0.8%, which aligns with the sharp decline in the stock market; the euro has appreciated by 0.6% against the US dollar, and the yen has risen by 0.5% against the US dollar.
