Arista Networks has delivered its most impressive quarterly report since its IPO ten years ago: third-quarter revenue surged 58.5% year-on-year to $3.66 billion, marking the fastest annual growth since its IPO in 2014. This signifies that AI-driven demand for network infrastructure has entered an accelerated release phase. Additionally, fourth-quarter guidance is set at a midpoint of $3.95 billion, surpassing analysts’ previous expectations of $3.6 billion.

Arista Networks has delivered its most impressive quarterly report since its IPO in 2014, driven by a surge in demand for AI data center infrastructure.

The company’s earnings report released on Tuesday shows third-quarter revenue grew by 58.5% year-on-year to $3.66 billion, with adjusted earnings per share of $1.20—both beating Wall Street expectations. Fourth-quarter revenue guidance is in the range of $3.9 billion to $4 billion, well above the previous analyst estimate of $3.6 billion. Following the announcement, Arista’s share price rose about 10% in after-hours trading.

CEO Jayshree Ullal stated the third-quarter results even surpassed her own high expectations. “Strong momentum across our customer base underscores our growing strategic value in the era of generative AI and agent AI.”

Growth Rate Hits Decade High, Results Exceed Expectations Across the Board

The 58.5% year-on-year revenue growth in the third quarter marks Arista’s fastest annual growth since its IPO in 2014, signifying that AI-driven network infrastructure demand has entered an accelerated release phase.

Specifically, the $3.66 billion in revenue was about 10% higher than analysts’ expectations of $3.33 billion. Adjusted earnings per share were $1.20, also exceeding forecasts of $1.08 and representing a 60% increase from the same period last year.

Fourth-quarter guidance is likewise far above expectations—with the midpoint for revenue guidance at around $3.95 billion, well above the prior consensus of $3.6 billion, and adjusted earnings per share guidance ranging from $1.26 to $1.30.

AI Networking Demand as Core Driver, Microsoft and Meta Are Top Clients

Arista’s core business is providing computer network switches for internet data centers, primarily to accelerate communications within cloud computing data centers. The main driver of current AI-related growth is "backend" Ethernet networking products that connect cloud data center server clusters.

The company's largest customers are Microsoft and Meta, while emerging clients include Oracle and Alphabet, Google's parent company. Arista previously projected that AI-related revenue in 2026 will be no less than $3.5 billion, accounting for roughly 28% of its full-year revenue outlook of $12.6 billion.

Additionally, Arista is working with chip manufacturers such as AMD, Arm, Broadcom, and Qualcomm, as well as collaborating with Meta and Microsoft to jointly develop AI network equipment.

Market Position Continues to Strengthen, Enterprise Market Share Expanding Steadily

Arista was recently included in the S&P 100 index, further consolidating its position in the large-scale technology infrastructure sector. Analysts note that the company is steadily increasing its share in the “enterprise” market, which includes large corporations, government agencies, and educational institutions.

In terms of competition, Arista’s main rivals are Cisco Systems and the Juniper division under HPE. However, one potential concern on Wall Street is that contract manufacturers such as Celestica may be eroding some of its business.

From a technical perspective, Arista’s share price is up about 25% year-to-date, but has pulled back from the 52-week high of $217.41 reached on October 8, and recently fell below the 50-day moving average, a key technical support level.
