Slovenia's trade surplus narrowed to 398.4 million euros in September.

⑴ Slovenia’s trade surplus narrowed to 398.4 million euros in September 2026, compared to 552.6 million euros in the same period last year. Nevertheless, the latest figure is still the largest surplus in a year.⑵ Imports rose 18.1% year-on-year to 6.4997 billion euros, mainly driven by an increase in imports from EU countries (+10.0%) and non-EU countries (+26.6%).⑶ Meanwhile, exports grew by 13.9% to 6.8982 billion euros, thanks to increased exports to EU countries (+7.4%) and non-EU countries (+19.6%).⑷ From January to September, Slovenia recorded a trade deficit of 6.6796 billion euros, reversing a surplus of 2.453 billion euros in the same period last year, due to a 14.3% rise in imports and a 2.8% drop in exports.
