Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares plummeted simultaneously in early trading. Analysts believe that concerns over tighter data center regulations following the U.S. midterm elections have caused U.S. semiconductor stocks to fall, leading to weakened investment sentiment for Korean semiconductor stocks as well. However, some analysts suggest that the impact on ongoing data center investments will be limited. A Kiwoom Securities researcher stated, "Considering that the progress of ongoing data center investments will not face major disruptions, the impact on existing supply contracts and the downward revision of earnings expectations for AI infrastructure stocks will be limited."
