Zach Rector claims Ripple stands to gain most from rising XRP price

Cryptocurrency commentator Zach Rector has sparked renewed debate about Ripple‘s motivations and strategies regarding the future price of XRP. Rector stated that Ripple, the blockchain-based payments company, holds significant amounts of XRP and therefore has a strong financial incentive to see the asset appreciate in value.

XRP holders respond to Rector’s comments

In a recent post on social platform X, Rector questioned why anyone would doubt Ripple’s determination to support XRP’s price growth, emphasizing the company’s direct interest due to its substantial token holdings.

Ripple has the largest incentive to see XRP at a high price. What makes you think they won’t do everything in their power to see that through?

Rector’s statement triggered a range of reactions from the XRP investor community. Several supporters argued that Ripple’s financial interests align with community hopes for price appreciation. However, others expressed skepticism about the company’s impact on market performance, citing a gap between Ripple’s business moves and XRP’s recent price history.

XRP price remains under pressure despite business developments

A community member known as Ttmoto listed Ripple’s recent developments, including progress on legal clarity, multiple acquisitions, new advertising campaigns in New York City, the rollout of RLUSD, and new business partnerships. Despite these updates, Ttmoto remarked that XRP’s price had not reflected these improvements, referencing a decline after Ripple’s Swell event.

XRP price drops immediately following Swell, highlighting the ongoing disconnect between Ripple’s business headlines and the token’s market performance.

Ripple’s XRP holdings at the center of investor discussions

Others shifted the conversation to Ripple’s approach to its own XRP reserves, with some users questioning whether the company prioritizes price appreciation over other objectives. Jdjdje suggested that Ripple could treat XRP mainly as a utility asset for facilitating transactions on the XRP Ledger and possibly sell portions of its stash at different price levels to fund acquisitions.

User Hugh Jaynis estimated Ripple’s XRP reserves at around $50 billion, noting that even if the firm chose to sell tokens gradually at current prices, it could maintain a consistent income stream for two decades.

Another community member, Chiara, echoed Rector’s perspective in part but stressed that Ripple must take even greater initiative to support XRP’s performance.

Mini dictionary: RLUSD, also known as Ripple USD, is a stablecoin initiative by Ripple aimed at providing a US dollar-pegged asset for use within its payment infrastructure. It is designed to facilitate cross-border transactions and improve liquidity on the XRP Ledger.

Debate continues over Ripple’s responsibility for XRP price

XRP holders continue to differ on Ripple’s responsibilities toward token price appreciation. Some argue that Ripple’s large reserve is reason enough for the company to prioritize pushing XRP to higher levels. Others feel that without evidence of consistent demand driven by Ripple’s business growth, XRP’s value may remain unpredictable.

While Ripple has introduced RLUSD, continued its partnership strategy, and expanded its core payments business, market participants remain divided over how closely these achievements are linked to XRP’s long-term price prospects.

Just bet on AI and already faced a market blow! Berkshire reports earnings tonight, Abel faces a major test in his transformation

Greg Abel has been leading Berkshire Hathaway for less than a year, yet he has already made a bet of over $10.9 billion on the AI sector, marking a complete break from Buffett’s traditional avoidance of tech stocks. However, Alphabet’s stock price has fallen below their initial purchase cost, and Bending Spoons continues to decline, putting this bold AI gamble to the test. At the same time, third-quarter earnings per share are expected to drop 6% year-over-year, and the share repurchase program is likely to plummet from $4.5 billion to $1.6 billion. How to deploy $358 billion in cash will be a major challenge for the new leader’s capital allocation skills.

Has the AI bubble burst? Goldman Sachs: It's more like 1998 than 2000 right now

The Goldman Sachs trading desk stated that the current wave of sell-offs resembles the 1998 liquidity crisis more than the bursting of the 2000 bubble. It is a forced deleveraging rather than a refutation of business fundamentals. The market is drastically repricing construction financing and timeline expectations, rather than underlying demand. Moreover, the issues currently drawing the most attention from the market—electricity and licensing—are actually the least important, as limited supply does not equate to disappearing demand. The real question that needs to be answered is whether long-term revenues can ultimately justify the capital invested.
