Solana Mobile has announced that it has concluded the first season of its Seeker program, closing an initial chapter of its mobile-focused Web3 strategy as it prepares to launch its long-awaited SKR token later this month.

The company said Seeker Season 1 attracted more than 265 decentralized applications, processed around 9 million transactions, and generated roughly $2.6 billion in on-chain volume, with over 100,000 users participating.

They revealed on Wednesday that SKR will go live on January 21, confirming a timeline first outlined in December. The token will have a fixed total supply of 10 billion SKR, according to the company.

In a post on X, Solana Mobile said it has already taken a snapshot for an upcoming airdrop. About 20% of the total supply has been reserved for eligible users and developers, with further details on allocations and the claim process expected soon.

“SKR launch is targeted for January 21 at 2am UTC (January 20th at 9pm EST). Stay tuned for more about airdrop allocations and the claim process,” the company revealed.

Solana Mobile said SKR is designed to serve as the governance and incentive layer for its ecosystem, which centers on the Seeker smartphone and a decentralized app store.

SKR will have a fixed total supply of 10 billion tokens. A large share has been set aside for community participation, including airdrops for users and developers and funding for growth and partnerships.

The remaining supply is split between Solana Mobile, Solana Labs, liquidity needs, and a 10% community treasury, which will be controlled through governance.

SKR holders will be able to stake tokens to a delegated group known as “Guardians,” who will participate in securing the platform and shaping governance decisions. Staking and governance features are expected to roll out following the token’s launch.

Solana had previously revealed that the support for its first-generation smartphone, Saga, has ended. Saga devices will no longer receive software updates or security patches, and customer support will be limited.

Solana Mobile said this change does not affect Seeker devices, which will continue to receive updates and security support.

Goldman Sachs Also Changes Its Tune: The Fed Will Raise Interest Rates Next Week!

Goldman Sachs has shifted from predicting a rate hold to betting on a 25 basis point hike next week, stating that this change is not due to particularly bad inflation data—the August CPI was not perfect, but it wasn’t alarming either. The real key is that hawkish comments from Waller have already shaped market expectations: "If the inflation data isn’t perfect, there will be a rate hike." If the Federal Reserve backs down now, its credibility will suffer a serious blow and long-term interest rates could react sharply and immediately.
