A Whale Investor Shorting SK Hynix has Lost More Than the Initial Investment, with an Unrealized Loss of $1.6 million
BlockBeats News, May 11, according to Hyperinsight monitoring, a stock price has been rising recently. On Hyperliquid, whales with a million-dollar or larger position in a futures contract are all in short positions, currently all facing unrealized losses.
The whale with the deepest unrealized loss opened a short position on February 20 with 4x leverage, shorting 3394.6 futures contracts (equivalent to about $4.36 million), with an entry price of $816 and a liquidation price of $1592. After holding the position for nearly 3 months, the current unrealized loss has expanded to $1.58 million, a loss percentage of 119%, equivalent to more than double the initial investment. As of the time of writing, the position has not been closed.
At a historical high for the asset, the contract on Hyperliquid is currently trading at $1299. New short positions are still being entered, with the most recent whale entering at an average price of $1250; the closest short address to liquidation on-chain is at $1451.
