Vitalik: More people should learn about Interfold, a privacy protocol optimized for scenarios such as voting
Foresight News reports that Vitalik Buterin has stated that more people should learn about Interfold. Essentially, this is something he has been urging people to build using the MACI concept for nearly a decade, and now it exists in a general-purpose form. Its core idea is: a privacy protocol optimized for scenarios such as voting. This mechanism generates a threshold encryption key; users submit their votes on-chain and use zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) to demonstrate their voting eligibility. The voting results can be computed arbitrarily within a fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) framework, and then decrypted using the threshold.
