Aave founder Stani: If central banks pay market interest rates on stablecoin reserves, a 30% deposit requirement is acceptable
ChainCatcher reports that Stani, founder of Aave, stated that if the Bank of England (BoE) is willing to pay market interest rates for the 30% of base assets that systemic stablecoins are required to deposit at the central bank according to regulations, he can accept this reserve requirement. Previously, BoE proposed that part of systemic stablecoin reserves should be held at the central bank to reduce risks. Stani's statement focuses on whether the passive deposit interest rate can cover the opportunity cost of these "locked" assets.
