US June CPI Falls Below Expectations, US Treasury Yields Rebound During Asian Session
Odaily reports that U.S. Treasury yields rose on Wednesday during Asian trading, but remained below Tuesday's intraday highs. Previously, the U.S. June CPI came in lower than market expectations, causing a retreat in Treasury yields late Tuesday. Jamie Cox, Managing Partner at Harris Financial Group, stated in a report: "If you expected this report to show runaway inflation, that is not the case. It's clear that the recent rebound in inflation is mainly due to energy price increases, and this effect likely won't last long." Meanwhile, heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran continue to introduce uncertainty, which remains an important factor for the market to watch. (Golden Ten Data)
