Federal Reserve Beige Book: Most Regions Experience Modest to Moderate Economic Growth with Mild Price Increases
On July 16, the Federal Reserve's Beige Book revealed that from late May to June, 11 out of the 12 Federal Reserve districts experienced slight to moderate growth in economic activity, while one district reported no change. Overall, prices increased moderately, with 9 districts reporting moderate price increases, 2 reporting stronger increases, and 1 reporting a smaller increase. The overall price increase remained stable or slowed compared to the previous period. Employment generally rose, with five districts experiencing moderate, mild, or robust job growth, while seven districts saw little or no change. Surveyed businesses widely expect continued economic expansion in the coming months, but several districts noted a high level of uncertainty regarding fuel cost outlook.
