Lam Research Marks Construction of New Oregon Lab for Advanced AI Chip Development

05:09 PM EDT, 08/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lam Research (LRCX) said late Wednesday it marked the construction of its new Oregon lab as part of a more than $3 billion investment in its global lab network over the next five years to support the creation of advanced AI chips. The new 12,000-square-foot facility will be located in the Silicon Forest, close to key customers, and is expected to increase cleanroom lab space at the Lam Tualatin R&D center by more than 50% when completed, allowing more experimentation and solution development, the company said. The lab is expected to become operational in 2028.
