DOGE Explodes Higher as Short Squeeze Pushes Price Toward $0.10

  • DOGE surged 4.87% as a short squeeze pushed price toward the crucial $0.10 resistance.
  • Technical signals strengthen as DOGE holds $0.088 support and targets $0.12 after breaking higher.
  • DogeOS, DOGE-1, payments, and ETF access provide additional catalysts for Dogecoin’s recovery.

Dogecoin — DOGE, is making another run toward the $0.10 psychological barrier. DOGE gained nearly 5% as derivatives activity accelerated across the market. Short liquidations added fuel, forcing bearish traders to close positions quickly. The rally also pushed DOGE above the 200-day moving average, keeping buyers firmly interested.

Short Squeeze Fuels DOGE’s Breakout

DOGE climbed 4.87% over 24 hours to reach $0.0902. The move significantly outpaced Bitcoin and the broader cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin gained only 0.38% during the same period, while the broader market advanced 0.87%. The stronger performance highlights renewed buying interest around Dogecoin. Derivatives activity played a major role behind DOGE’s sudden acceleration. Open interest jumped 8.5% within one hour to reach $282 million.

Such rapid growth pointed toward a developing short squeeze across DOGE derivatives. Short sellers faced forced liquidations as rising prices pressured bearish positions. Those liquidations created additional buying pressure across the crypto market. The rally also produced several encouraging technical signals. DOGE formed a golden cross on the hourly chart during the recovery. The daily chart also printed a morning doji star pattern. Such formations can signal weakening selling pressure after prolonged declines.

Crypto analyst Trader Tardigrade highlighted another important technical development. DOGE repeatedly tested the 0.618 Fibonacci level near $0.081. Buyers defended that area during several separate attempts. Those repeated rebounds suggest strong demand remains around the support zone. DOGE began recovering after reaching $0.08 on September 2. The token then attempted to reclaim the 200-day moving average. That first attempt failed on September 3, but Saturday delivered a stronger breakout.

DOGE Targets $0.10 as Ecosystem Catalysts Grow

Crypto analyst Ali also identified a bullish flag formation on lower timeframes. His technical projection points toward a potential move near $0.12. DOGE currently faces immediate resistance around the $0.10 psychological level. The area previously rejected Dogecoin during the August rally. A decisive breakout could open additional upside targets above $0.10.

Traders are watching $0.12 as the next major objective. Higher technical targets include $0.1552 and $0.1774. However, DOGE must first establish support above $0.10. Several ecosystem developments could also strengthen investor interest. DogeOS remains one notable development within the Dogecoin ecosystem. The EVM-compatible application layer uses DOGE for transaction fees.

The planned DOGE-1 launch also remains another potential catalyst this month. DOGE payments reportedly extend across more than 6,000 merchants. Other developments include DOGE Pay and House of Doge’s planned public listing. ETF access could also improve exposure among traditional market participants. Dogecoin also recorded August as the strongest-performing month during 2026.

AI development slowdown combined with surging oil prices hit Japanese and Korean chip stocks first, SK Hynix falls more than 5%, SoftBank plunges 11%

AI giants have made a rare joint call to slow down the development of advanced models. The South Korean and Japanese stock markets have declined, with the Seoul Composite Index falling over 3% and the Nikkei 225 Index dropping more than 2%. SoftBank plunged 11% in a single day, while SK Hynix dropped over 5%. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has shut down oil pipelines, pushing Brent crude prices up to $107. Combined with the US CPI exceeding expectations, the probability of a Fed rate hike on Wednesday is now over 90%. The double whammy has led to a turbulent opening for Asian markets.
