MDA Space Seals Deal With European Joint Venture to Produce Broadband Digital Antennas

09:32 AM EDT, 10/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- MDA Space (MDA.TO) said on Friday that it has sealed a deal with Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture company, to begin work on digital antenna systems. The antennas and antenna controller are meant for the 66 "Layer 1" Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite, or IRIS, satellites in low Earth orbit, a statement said. The authorization to proceed agreement is valued at over CA$100 million, MDA said. The contract will be included in its backlog in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026.
