According to sources familiar with the matter, Alphabet (GOOG.US), the parent company of Google, is in discussions with the Pentagon to participate in Trump's $185 billion "Golden Dome" missile defense program. Alphabet is expected to focus on data security, storage, network, and cybersecurity capabilities to ensure that data transmission for military command and control software is less susceptible to attacks. The related discussions are still in the early stages, and Google's subsidiary Aalyria is also participating in the preparation for the related alliance. The Pentagon stated that no final decision has been made regarding the formation of a new alliance or the involvement of companies.
