- According to two sources familiar with the matter, game software provider Unity Software (U.N) has held talks about being acquired by a group of investors that includes private equity firm Silver Lake Partners and Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund PIF.

The sources said Silver Lake (which currently owns about 8% of the game software company) and PIF have approached the company in recent weeks. As the negotiations are confidential, the sources requested anonymity.

The sources added that before the company's latest financial results pushed its market value to about $21.5 billion, the consortium was discussing an acquisition valuation of around $25 billion in recent weeks.

They added that after receiving the expression of interest, Unity has been working with an investment bank to evaluate its options.

The sources said it is still uncertain whether a deal will be reached, and plans—including deal terms—could still change.

Unity declined to comment. Silver Lake and PIF have not immediately responded to requests for comment.

Texas Governor-Elect: Data centers must be suspended until measures to protect the interests of the people are introduced

The newly elected governor of Texas, Hinojosa, publicly stated that she despises the way data centers "take advantage of Texans" and that any measures must be paused before the introduction of new data centers. She also expressed willingness to collaborate with tech giants such as Elon Musk but emphasized that "it must be on our terms." Goldman Sachs previously warned that the current "blue wave" could result in a suspension order affecting the expansion capacity of approximately 45% of data centers across the United States, with Texas accounting for about 25%. Other states are also rushing to follow Texas' lead.
