Citi: March core PCE monthly rate expected to be 0.3%
According to Odaily, compared to the Federal Reserve’s preferred PCE indicator, core CPI has consistently shown exceptionally small increases. Based on today’s CPI data, Citi economists preliminarily estimate that the core PCE’s month-on-month increase, when rounded, will be 0.3%. This level is higher than what corresponds to the Federal Reserve’s 2% year-on-year target, but better than the 0.4% increase seen in February as per yesterday’s data. The Citi team noted that they still need to combine the PPI data to make a more accurate PCE prediction. (Golden Ten Data)
